And of course any sushi samba meal is not complete without some samba rolls and sashimi so we had the neo Tokyo rolls – tuna, tempura flakes, aji panca and spicy mayo that were delicious with a perfect kick and the yellowtail sashimi served on ice keeping it really cold and tasting really fresh. From the robata we had chicken teriyaki which tasted delicious in its sauce and was extremely succulent. With it the shrimp tempura in a spicy mayo that is always a must have. This is a great start as it is served chilled so tastes refreshing and not too filling. We opted for lobster taquitos – a crispy taco shell filled with lobster, avocado, aji amarillo, jalepenos, lime and maiz morado. SUSHISAMBA offers an inventive menu of food from Japan, Brazil and Peru.

You first walk through the bar area that is decorated with plenty of greenery almost resembling a garden or forest before being seated near the open kitchen or on a warmer, sunnier day out on the terrace overlooking ‘the Piazza’. Upon arrival the staff were super friendly, getting the ramp out as there is a large step in, taking our coats and leading us to the elevator to take up to the restaurant. So you can imagine our surprise when SUSHISAMBA was and we were delighted as we love Covent Garden and love the sushi samba in the city in the Heron tower. Located atop the historic grade II listed market building in its iconic orange colour is SUSHISAMBA.īeing a wheelchair user, Covent Garden is not the friendliest of places with its cobbles, lack of drop down curbs and large crowds of people and due to the age of the majority of buildings, particularly restaurants, not many places are accessible.

Miso cheesecake is addictive and mesmerising, peach Melba bursts with flavour and Macha tiramisu is to die for. I don’t have a sweet tooth thus don’t usually order desserts in other restaurants but the desserts at Bisushima are something else. They use ‘akazu’ red vinegar to season rice which brings out the natural sweetness of top quality Japanese rice. Sushi platter is like works of art: aesthetically pleasing, absolutely fresh with the best ingredients and the taste is indescribably amazing. It isn’t cheap but I guarantee you won’t regret it. They use authentic Japanese wagyu from Koushu which literally, really literally, melts in your mouth. Wagyu risotto is so so so good and dangerously addictive. My favourite dishes include Yellowtail carpaccio with truffles (almost too pretty to eat), braised octopus which is so tender that you probably don’t need teeth to eat it 🤣. It’s an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs working their magic in front of your own eyes. Yes portions are on a smaller side but it is a part of fine dining 😊Īll dishes are exquisitely and professionally executed with the freshest top quality ingredients. They cannot do enough for you to make your visit a memorable occasion.
