However, she is met with little support from powers that be and law enforcement, both of whom believe that she is slowly going insane. Fully aware of his incredible technological breakthroughs, Cecelia knows that Adrian torturing her in the “afterlife” is a real possibility. After hearing that Adrian has killed himself, her life can officially start over right? After escaping his controlling, abusive and maniacal clutches, she lives a life of hiding, as Adrian instilled great fear in Cecelia. In this new version, the story revolves around Cecelia Kass (Elizabeth Moss), who starts off in a rocky relationship with tech entrepreneur Adrian Griffin (ring a bell?). Sadly his procedure becomes irreversible, thus beginning the terror and violent tirade of the Invisible Man. In the original story, a scientist named Griffin, who is consumed by his research in optics, finds a way to become invisible. Wells novel of the same name, this story takes elements from both the Invisible Man novel and 1930’s films and adapts them to exist in the world we know today. As Nick comes back to life, they make peace and she dies.Inspired by the 1897 H.G. Or the metaphysical way of looking at this is that Annie gives up her life for the sake of Nick. This could be a mere coincidence that Nick’s treatment has started working and he’s gained consciousness as he’s not dying anymore. She does that, she apologizes to Nick, she makes peace with him. She doesn’t know why but she feels she needs to see Nick (the body that is in coma). Annie visits him in the hospital and she can now fully hear Nick’s spirit. They find the body and Nick remains in coma in the hospital.
Annie tips the authorities about the location of Nick’s dying body. In the process of saving Nick, she gets shot. As absurd as the explanation is, that is unfortunately the factor that gets Annie close enough to Nick until she finally hears him in the corridors.Īfter this, Annie decides to save him because she knows that what she’s done is terrible and doesn’t want Nick to die. There is a metaphysical relationship that is building between the two of them. Nick’s spirit is also realizing this about Annie and is perhaps connecting more with Annie. She’s actually quite similar to Nick but the circumstances she has grown up in has made her the hateful person she is. My theory is that she’s directly responsible for the state Nick is in. Why does she suddenly hear start hearing Nick? There is no sound explanation for this. Nick is not seen or heard by anyone, not till the end when Annie finally hears him. While he’s not dead, he is going to die soon if not found. This has happened because Nick is having a near death experience. What you will need to accept is the concept that Nick is not dead, yet he is a spirit.
